Catalina: "The Island of Romance"

Only 26 miles across the sea, Catalina Island is my favorite weekend get away. The boat ride from Newport Beach is about 1 1/2 hours, with pleanty of seating area and FULL BAR! The city of Avalon, is only 1 mile long, so walking around is not a big deal. Things to do in Catalin that I reccommend:
Daytime:
Zip Line Tour - a 3 hour zip line tour. The fastest, steepest zip line in California. For a pretty penny ($90), you can see the most beautiful views in So Cal.
Descanso Beach - perfect day drinking atmosphere. Cabanas, Food, Drinks/Bar, & Music! You don't need to go anywhere else ::Hotspot!::

Nightlife:
El Galleon - an old shipwrecked pirate style bar and KAREOKE awesomeness.
Luau Larrys - get your "whicky whacked!" (a special drink for $9, which includes a hat & sticker).
Marlin Club - Pool table, juke box, low-life locals bar!
Chi Chi Club - For the dancing queens and booty shakers - great late night spot to get your boogie on. Top club and dance hits.
